Birders Take Notice!
AmaTierra is being called a "newly discovered hot spot" for viewing birds of the Pacific slope Woodland area. Since February 2007, more than 65 species of birds have been identified within the 8 acres of AmaTierra Hotel & Retreat.

birdwatching at amatierraIf you are planning a trip specifically for birdwatching, AmaTierra is only an hour's plus drive from San Jose. Why not break up your journey en route to the Pacific Coast and enjoy the remote and peaceful woodland gardens of AmaTierra? Or use this hideaway as a convenient base to visit Turubari Park (15 minutes’ drive) or the hot and steamy Tarcoles Region (Carara Park, 45 min. drive).
Afterwards, return to the cooler elevations for a cold drink, some great healthy food on the balcony (still birdwatching from magnificent views) and perhaps a dip in the pool or a massage.
