From Darkness Into Light
 The winter holidays are rooted in nearly universal Earth-centered traditions that mark the shortest day of the year and celebrate the return of longer days, prosperity and expanding Light. Here in Costa Rica we are only 10 degrees north of the equator; hence our days and nights are nearly equal year-round. However, it is spring in the tropics, and birds are nesting, trees are bursting with orange, white and yellow blossoms, and the sweet smell of the mango flower permeates the air.
