New Additions
|
 |
|
It’s Spring at AmaTierra, the best time of the year
for birdwatching. The parrots, mot-mots, and toucans are nesting;
trees are blossoming orange and yellow; and Jorge’s horse Alma
recently gave birth to Corazon, a coffee-colored colt—healthy and
strong. Now AmaTierra is complete with Heart and Soul (Corazon y
Alma). |
|

|
|
Presenting: Corazon! | |
|
Speaking of horses, new horseback tours are
now available. Ride to the private rushing waterfall, or to
Wilberth’s very own farm, with breathtaking views of the
mountains and sea. |
|
|
"I have never had an experience like this on a
horse before! It was exhilarating and the views just kept getting
better around every curve!" Kristen
O'Connell, AmaTierra guest, November 2006.
| The Tilapia are growing in the pond, and the construction of our
permanent organic greenhouse is underway. More and more AmaTierra is
becoming green and sustainable, working toward our Costa Rican Certificate
of Sustainable Tourism.

Medicinal Pichichio
Plant | |
"Pichichio" (Solanum mamosum)
fruits, member of the Tomato family, are toxic but when made into an
alcohol extract the vapors are sniffed to overcome sinus infections.
Indigenous peoples and Costa Ricans swear by it. We're
experimenting, as the fruits are almost ripe at AmaTierra.

A New Book! |
 |
AmaTierra supporter and visionary Linda Drew shares her personal
journey and adventures around the world. She reveals universal themes of
courage and the ability to trust. This book is about sharing and strength
to stand alone. She has the ability to distill her experiences into
poetic, profound descriptions. Linda designed and built the first
permitted mud & straw house (solar, off the grid) in northern
California. A delightful read!
