Come Explore the Rainforest!
CAN YOU PICTURE YOURSELF in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, the Costa
Rican rainforest?
ARE YOU READY to find ways to improve your health by the
simple addition of herbs and spices to your food? If your answer is a resounding "YES!", please join AHG herbalists
Candis Cantin and Jill Ruttenberg in this 5 day interactive workshop that
promises to shed new light on that most vital element: the foods we eat.
Concepts of Ayurvedic Medicine, from India, perhaps the oldest form of medicine
on the earth, and Traditional Chinese Medicine will be introduced in a fun,
interactive setting.
We'll cook, taste different foods and herbs, including those growing in Costa Rica, and visit a
rainforest herb garden with nearly 1000 species of culinary and medicinal herbs.
And, you'll have plenty of time just to relax, enjoy the wildlife, walk to the
stream, do yoga, lay in a hammock, get a massage or visit nearby
attractions. Learn the answers to questions like: What foods are right for my specific constitution? What is my
predominant "Dosha"? Is it Pitta, Kapha or Vata? How can I integrate traditional
healing foods, herbs and the time to digest them in my busy modern life? What
are the 6 Flavors, and how does each one help to balance my system? With more than 35 years combined clinical experience, Candis and Jill also offer a
unique opportunity to address some of your individual health questions in a
casual, relaxed atmosphere. Students of herbal medicine will learn at a level appropriate for their training, with plenty of time for questions and exploration.
