| Herradura Beach |
The quiet beach-town of Herradura is home to many native Costa Ricans, or ticos, as they call themselves. The small, sandy cove is more private than neighboring Playa Jacó, although a few new beachfront resorts near town have recently attracted more visitors to the area. Playa Herradura is big enough that you can rent jet skis and get a bite to eat at a local restaurant, but still small enough to enjoy the peaceful waves and watch the vibrant sunset over the ocean. Serenity, the colorful local culture, and a beautiful view make Playa Herradura the perfect beach daytrip to get your feet wet on the pacific shores of Costa Rica. |

| Jaco, Costa Rica |
A few minutes from Herradura is Playa Jacó, a bustling surf-town that combines just the right amount of tourists and local culture to create a fun, laid back atmosphere. In just the past five or ten years, Jacó has transformed from a sleepy beach town into a popular tourist and surfer destination, rumored to have one of the best surf breaks in Costa Rica. We can help you make arrangements for surfing lessons in Jaco or nearby world famous Hermosa Beach, and arrange day trip transportation for you. Go here for more information about surfing in Costa Rica. Jacó is the closest beach to the capital city of San Jose, which means the town can become very busy in the dry season and on the weekends, so be sure to book hotels in advance. The combination of tourists and locals provides for a wide variety of dining and lodging choices, from inexpensive rooms and locally-owned restaurants to upscale resorts and fine dining-even sushi! The town is also famous for its vibrant nightlife, and there’s always something going on. Whether its live music, casino gambling or bar-hopping that suits your fancy, you’re sure to find an exciting time in this beach town. |
